Fluid Levels?

Thats because this site is The BEST ON THE NET.....enough said...
 
Wish I had seen this thread before my first oil change on '05 FLST. Service manual and owners manual say 3 1/2 qts. That's what I put in. After a ten mile warm up ride I checked and it's a half quart or more over full. Now I need a turkey baster.
 
On my 2010 fatboy my manual says primary...32 oz wet....40 oz dry...Could someone tell me the difference ..:)

Dry is when shipped from the factory before being filled, or after a complete tear down:s

wet and dry =

Wet had oil in it from new(dry).... not all the lube will Drain out after oiled from first time. Motors hold oil after a Drain,,,so instead of 4 Qts. DRY you use 3.5 WET

Dry means NO oil yet,,, totally Dry to start with..

If you take apart and wipe/wash clean of all remnants of oil out THEN use the DRY amount suggested.......
