.. additionally, on your alarm issue. Some bikers I know don't fool with the alarm, they park their bikes in the garage every night. Just using your fork lock and ignition lock should get the job done for short periods of time outside the garage….
Save the install for a rainy day; those days are best for that sort of thing..
