How do I check for oil sumping? Would my dealer not check for that when I took it in?

I wonder how wide spread this problem is?
I've heard of it before but neither of my bikes do it.
Both running K&N filters and I tend to run my engines full of oil.
By that, I mean, 80% up the dipstick on the Cold Check.

Like any other manufactured item, maybe some fit better or were
assembled better than others...
