Haven't rode since Dec.

Me too-almost.
Don’t have the freezing cold conditions.
But what I do have is heat and humidity. And vicious and unpredictable thunderstorms with lightning and rain of Biblical proportions.
Sitting on an air cooled pump(Harley or BMW or Honda CBX) in temps of 35 degrees plus with relative humidity of above 85% just ain’t funny. Especially if one wears jackets and jeans and gloves and helmets.
When it’s hot enough to fry an egg on the roadway then I’m better off to open a restaurant than to ride a bike.
People say they love summer, but riding a bike in winter is s-o-o much more enjoyable than sweating and baking and getting burnt from hot cylinders and pipes and oil tanks.
You guys can’t wait for summer and I can’t wait for winter.

Spring and Fall when the temps are the best on the Gulf Coast, Winter is OK too as long as it ain't too cold or raining.

Haha...All in perspective isn't it? :) I would rather have warm summers & mild winters...I would be willing to sacrifice heat for shoveling snow. :)

Very early October last year was my last ride, it was cold in Minnesota. Since then, this frigid winter would be much longer, if I were not focused on a new paint job on my 08 Fat Boy, this frigid winter would be much longer. Work is coordinated between the painter who laid on the anniversary color, to a guy who does the pin stripes and lettering, and the artist, who has a special interest with designs that will be passed to posterity. Volunteer work at the Eagles Healing Nest (renovations to buildings to make homes for homeless veterans) helps pass the time, also. Mid-Feb now, in 10 weeks I'll be riding over the Rockies to meet friends in Auburn CA for our annual ride to Rolling Thunder, visiting vets in homes and hospitals through the ten day ride.
TEN weeks. Whoohoo!

I got to ride day before yesterday ( Thursday). Rode 6 miles to work, then rode 53 miles back home, (took the looooooong way home) Thursday morning 58 degrees, High Thursday 72. First ride since Christmas Eve. It’s been either too cold or raining until this ride.

My GPS seems to route me like that...when I had the job at work that got me out of the office, I used the GPS a lot, and I kid you not...the thing would route me one way to the destination & a different way back. Leaving and returning to the same place...Garmin is in cahoots with the oil companies I tell ya!

Last year I was out on my second ride on today's date, but not this year.:( Too darned much salt on the road, not to mention snow.

I just got back from a good long ride up in the mountains. Went into Dalonega, Helen and Suches Ga. All very motorcycle friendly towns. All together was 172 miles. Temp in the 60’s.

Riding in the mountains is always a gas, we're heading to Maggie Valley next month, may get some riding in.
