HD or BAL led taillight?

The BAL light is bright.
When we did a night ride to welcome some WW2 vets back in an evening escort, I found out from the rider behind me that it was best if I was last.
All he saw was a huge red light (what I want) when I hit the brakes.
Now I am the last rider in an escort, at least at night.....

I can't say about the HD light but the BAL is well, very bright and programmable. I saw it in action at a dealer and got one right there. Yeah, it isn’t cheap but you will be glad you got it, plug and play too. I have set my BAL to the brightest settings for both modes (running lights and break lights) and the most annoying braking flash pattern. I'm seeing cars back off at stops now. When I hit the brakes at night it is very stunning to see how much of the road it lights up behind me. If you get the BAL you will not be sorry that you did.

The brake light patterns are listed in the directions. I went though the peterns a few times to finaly choose the one that I wanted.

I went into HD dealer that carry them both, HD led and BAL, they have them wired and mounted side by side and I walked out with a BAL for my Heritage, the BAL is much brighter than the HD one, the guy at HD told me don't look at the BAL when he turns it on and I though "come on, how bright can it be", he was right, I got a big dark ball in front of my me everywhere I looked for awhile.

About being the last rider of the group, that also happened to me after I had the BAL installed, doesn't matter day or night, they want me on the back because of my brake light is so bright.
 
BAL=Made in the USA, HD=Not sure but I'll bet everyone can guess.

OK I think you guys convinced me to get the BAL unit. If what I am buying this for is more light then BAL seems to win hands down. I checked their web site and there is a HD dealer only an hour away that is a Dealer for BAL. I will call them when they open to make sure they have one to fit my bike then riding down to get it. Today is the first day for so long I can't remember that no rain is forecast so I will be taking advantage of that and plan a good ride after getting the light. Thanks for all the input! :)
 
If the BAL light were available when I was in the market for a LED taillight, I would have bought it for sure. It is a lot brighter than the Harley light, and the patterns available really catch the eye of people behind you, and it is made in the USA.:USA I may upgrade to it anyway. Anyone want to buy a used Harley Davidson LED taillight?:D

I had HD gift card so swapped stock tail w/HD LED...works OK, but plastic housing is already spider-cracked so I'm hoping it fails soon so I can UG to BAL...
 
I have had the BAL taillght for about a year, love it wish I had put it on sooner,really gets the attention of the cages behind you!
