So this osram bulb just snaps in as a direct replacement?

Yep, all I had to do was trim the little tab off w/tin snips & it fits into same socket as stock bulb. Definitely worth the $12!

the 80/100 watt bulbs are bright - from past experience I have found the higher wattage bulbs will melt the lenses if plastic & have had glass lenses crack. from extra heat generated from bulbs.
better to make sure lense is not pitted or hazzed & run a GE nighthawk or equ..

This one is only about $12 and no doubt will work just as well.

I have never heard of the Osram bulb and don't know if they are available here but if they work as well as the Pia they are definitely a much cheaper solution. I have the Pia unit and am happy with same but if it goes out I will try your suggestion.
