We share an affinity with the Scots AND the Irish...We are the true Britons, pushed to the corners of the Kingdom by Romans, Normans, and everybody else who came!!

I have been fortunate to visit Scotland a few times, and have encountered a few people from Wales and have jokingly had many conversations like this late in the evening at our friends pub. Kind of like where I am from originally in the states, my home state separated from Virginia only 158 years ago, and although we have been a separate state since 1863, many people still refer to West Virginia just as Virginia. And yes, the castle we stay in while visiting is still 500 years older than our entire country...so yep, I get it.
