I will admit, I do like for my bike to have some volume. Not the ear splitting, no baffle loud, but I do enjoy making a car alarm go off with a little rev of the engine. I just got a new Street Glide two weeks ago. I have already put the SE Stage 1 a/c on it. I ordered Rush slip-ons with 2.25" baffles like I had on my 07 Heritage. They should be waiting for me today when I get home. I will be busy tonight putting them on the bike. I also have a TFI on the way. Hopefully, it will be here Friday.
I compare it to back in the late 70s early 80's when everyone was getting these big graphic equalizers and honking stereos for their cars. Too many people I saw sacrificed sound for volume. The louder the better and who cares what it sounds like. But if it sounds good, then hey...different story.
I've heard a ton of louder and better sounding pipes on the Heritage than mine and would love to have them. But the Rush baloney slip-ons with the 2" just wasn't one of them.
On the opposite side, I've heard some great rumbles coming from quiet pipes.
Its like customizing you bike...what looks great to one may look like trash to another.
Thats (one reason) what makes owning a Harley so FUN!!!!
