I am thinking about making a 2000 mile trip out to Sturgis and back on my 2008 FXSTC. The salesman at my local dealership looked at me like I was crazy (which has been debated for many years) saying that my seat would not be comfortable. Another friend said he was thinking of upgrading to the Mustang Seat 76404 Softail Wide Tire 200mm FXST FXSTC. My question is how is it attached to the rear fender. My stock seat has two bolts that fit through the sissy bar. The Mustang seat does not have them. So, how is it attached ?
 
Try contacting Mustang directly at their web site "Contact Us" tab. I have had pretty good luck talking to them in the past.
 
Mustang or corbin both good seats in 2000 I rode a Softail std to Sturgis with a stock seat it can be done

question is - how many miles do ya have on the saddle you have and do YOU think it would not be comfortable !??!?!?!?:cheers
 
I did 7200 miles to Sturgis, then the west coast then back to Ohio on Stock Ultra seat and it was OK. I don't think any one seat would be great for everyone. I guess you would have to try it to be sure. I would hate to pay so much money for a seat on someone's recommendation, only to find out I didn't like it.

ya still have the stock saddle on your UC?
 
Mustang seats attach differently on different bikes. Mine is an Street Glide & it slides under a bar in the front then 2 bolts in the back. My OEM was the bar in the front & 1 screw in the back. If you ride OK with the seat you have why upgrade?
 
Sorry for the delay in responding, but I've been getting ready for winter. Here's the deal. At 60 years of age and in fair shape I've found out in the 23,000 miles I've ridden on my 2008 Custom that my back aches after about 300 miles to the extent that a heating pad is usually conscripted into service. The friend I alluded to, said that the Mustang seat had a much better back pad that would help elongate my trips. I was just wondering if anyone had used one and how it was attached. Thanks for the replies.
 
My wife and i rode to the West Coast and back on a RK... I m 64 was 62 when i did it most miles in one day was 809 ..so the alternative maybe is a cushion..you might wanna check our "Air Rider"..the greatest thing ..and don't as me how it works...but we did not sweat while sitting on them in the crotch are butt areas( holding my breath i don't get the reminder to in red...lol) Thats the only way i can explain it. My wife and I have rode over 40,000 miles using them a lot less expensive than a new seat. We don't use them around town just on long runs. Just something to think about.
