they are a harley/cycle shop and i guess it would be off a salvaged bike. warranty is 7 days.

Tough choice here, If you can afford it I would go NEW specific for YOUR bike JMO When you make the change use some dilectric grease on ALL connections

Did more reading. Found out that the password has to be relearned but for my 2009 Dyna FXD the security module is called HSSM/TSM(hands free security module)and also is the TSM( turn signal module together. after successful passcode entry the HSSM may be assigned the initial 5 digit pincode.Thanks for all the input from all for a novice!!!!
