I'm quite new to the forum and think this is yet another great thread heading towards another great conclusion.

I personally would find it very useful to have an archive but do enjoy reading the entertaining threads which end up miles from where they started - a bit like a good road trip hey?
 
I would tend to agree about closing the old once when they are solved so people can read but not post on them. Good idea in my book.
 
OK the votes are in after the 24 hour pole and it looks like the older threads will be closed when they have run their course and the solution has been posted in the thread.
Important or technical posts that would benefit everyone are excluded from this selection.

Please let's not resurrect this topic in another thread.
