My 2021 Freewheeler Trike Blew up

One down side is the plastic intake, there have been many reports of cracking and warping, the fuel rail is plastic also, I see over time it becoming brittle and cracking also
 
Not saying it's a good idea to use plastics, but modern plastics can take a lot of heat, perhaps the engineers were tying to reduce weight.
IMHO the 96 engine was perhaps the best.
 
Plastic intake manifolds have been on cars and trucks for over 20 years.
We replace them as needed and with every new motor we install do to the internal build up of blow by and carbon.
Along time ago we reused 1 on a 5.4 Ford truck doing heads rebuild and crap flaked off from the inside and got stuck between the valve face and seat. We had to remove the heads a 2nd time to clean the valve seats. Cost of head gaskets and labor was more than the cost of 3 intake manifold.
