ummm...I never clean my bike when it's been running and the engine/pipes are hot. But it seems that some do. Just curious as why not wait till it's cool to wipe it down?

It was a knee-jerk reaction. I saw a smudge and didn't think about the pipes being hot.

Anyway, I remembered I had some Easy-Off oven cleaner and gave it a shot. It took 2 applications but the pipes are clean once again. Yay!
