Off topic oil question?

Only thing I would do different from what you have been doing is that I would change the oil before I lay it up for the year ,not at the beginning of a new season.That way the moisture and fuel contaminants would be out of the crankcase while it is sitting,not eating at it from the inside out.

I see what your saying, Should i go ahead and run the oil thats in it now even though its a year old and then change it when hunting season is over? Or do it now and after?

Being as your year old oil is the oil you ran last hunting season I would say change it out now,then when you store it change it out again,then you will be ready for the next season.JMO
