I tried Castrol and since it isn't specifically designed for air cooled engines they recommend that you do not use it. It broke down incredibly fast, so I contacted Castrol and that is what they told me. So I switched to Amsoil and it was a night and day difference, that bike runs a lot cooler and oil pressure stays at 10psi even in heavy traffic on hot days at idle.

You might have a piece crud getting stuck in the oil gauge orifice hole. Its alot littler that the oil tube diameter. Try removing gauge and cranking over engine to flush out oil pressure gauge port.
