"Patriot Guard Riders" (Post in this thread)

re: "Patriot Guard Riders?" (Post in this section)

Sad some times but to protect ones rigths other will be allowed to do things we do not like.
good side is it makes the rights of PRG ands others stronger.
If these groups show up the PRG will be there also and I betting we will always win that one.

As long as I am alive I am there with you on that one Bob!

I agree...but I think the distance limit should be increased from 1000 feet to at least a half a mile. And if they want to demostrate they should be required to check with the funeral director and stay off the path of the graveyard journey.

On a side note though, it just amazes me the thought patterns that some humans are capable of. I did not agree with the War in Viet Nam, but when called I went because I did not know what else to do. I loved my country and it said I should go. I did not think the Viet Nam war was immoral, but rather it was all about politics (and the fact the North wanted the rich rice lands of the south). I found the south Viet Nam government to be full of it's own corruption.

But ... aside from all that ancient history, how could any decent person demonstate at another's funeral. We had more respect for the enemy in Viet Nam than that.
And yes thank God for the Patriot Riders.

They may have the right, and the SC made the correct decision. Fortunately the PGR has made their mission very difficult to accomplish and for the most part has put them out of business.

Oh we have ways to make it a lot farther than 1000 feet if we want.
And the Type of People than support the PGR are not know for backing down.

Glad to hear it. I just joined the PGR. Have not had my first ride yet. Looking forward to doing whatever I can. I am not an extremely brave man. But for a Vet I will do whatever they require of me.

Been in the PGR since 2006... over 200 missions, both glad and sad...

Was a Senior Ride Captain, now an Assistant Senior Ride Captain (my choice).

If anyone is in the neighborhood of Woodstock, IL on Sat, Mar 19 - you should stop in to Woodstock Harley-Davidson. The IL Patriot Guard will be displaying the "Fallen Heroes Traveling Memorial Wall" - put together by a Gold Star family, has a picture of every IL service man & woman who has given the ultimate sacrifice since 2001.

It's quite moving on it's own, but then you talk to the Gold Star families who come to see it............

Thanks to all who have/are serving!

Respectfully,

-bogie

Wish I could, I have some old Vet friends in IL that I served with in Viet Nam. I'll bet they will be there. I served in 1970 just after the Woodstock Rock Festival. And as a result Camp Woodstock (Viet Nam) was one of the base camps that our unit built. Since we built it our commanding Officer allowed us to name it. So it was named Camp Woodstock.

I'm very proud to be a PGR Ride Captain in Monroe La. We became involved with the PGR while our son was in Iraq . He rode the roads as a USMC MP ,doing convoy escorts .We figured out pretty quickly ,that we could be on the other side of the flag line . Thankfully he made home safely , but I think we both feel like we OWE our service in the PGR as sort of a penance .As far as I'm concerned there is no better organization for a biker to belong to.If your not a member , join ...it's free .All you need is RESPECT.Thanks to all our men and women in uniform , past and present .
