Do one need those support hoops before you can install saddlebags? Do I need them if i buy just those throwover bags?

Unless the bags are pretty stiff and actually say not to use them, it is a good idea to use the support hoops. You do not want anything to get in the wheel, belt drive area...including loose items, passenger pant cuffs or shoe laces, just to be safe I strongly suggest them.

Added info: My bags are Corbin. Here's the link to the website with directions on mounting. Very easy! My husband (Craig Lee) and I put them on ourselves in a one morning. The relocation kit was easy too that came with them etc...
