Yep. I guess the days of totally American sizes even on an American made product are gone. There was a time for me when jumping on a Snap-On tool truck was Fun. But with the prices today, I think I will be heading to Sears!
Hoople, still like jumping on the Snap-On truck, just a bit more selective with my tools and yes Sears is also a good choice for more "cost effective" high performance tools.
Most everything today will be a mix. As stated most manufactures put out hardware etc. for bid and if the hardware manufacturer sells a lot overseas they probably only make metric.
I have actually seen hardware (not on HD) where the Threads were metric (lets say 6mmX1.25) but the head of the bolt was American SAE, (lets say 7/16). Talk about crazy.
