Riding speed

Airhog, I sometimes run backroads at lower speeds just because I prefer not to use my windshield. Like you said, just good for the soul kinda riding. Vtwins are perfect for this. Consider yourself blessed your best friend and lifetime mate joins you.

As others have stated, your Harley can handle the higher RPMs with no problem...! Staying in too high a gear and low RPMs is lugging, you will feel it as a surging and uneven power pulses like the internal chain and belt is slapping. If the engine accelerates crisply when you roll on the throttle, you are in the right gear. Not to worry in either case, just enjoy!
