Most after market pipes will not cover the oil or trans dipsticks unless the wrong application is used on the wrong year. I've seen that happen where the engine oil was not accessible because of the pipes.

I would check with the manufacturer before ordering any pipes just to be sure.

Let me start out by saying that sound is subjective and what I like and what you like may be two different things. I like you wasn't real impressed by the stock mufflers. I bought the SE Street Slip-ons. My first impression was that they weren't much louder than stock. Next came the Rush slip-ons. I tried three different baffles 1.5, 1.75 and 2.0. I ended up running the 1.75 for several months. Just last week I put the SE Street slip-ons back on. I think I'll stick with these. They have a nice rumble and I like the looks.

Those SE slipons will mellow with age and the sound will improve some.
