I agree on not using the tape method. Trip reset seems much wiser to get used to. I know what you mean NEWHD74FAN about getting jittery about next gas signs. I live and ride in a rural area where gas stations are few and far between so it is wise to monitor fuel closely, especially since I am new to riding in general and this machine in particular. It is lots of fun so far.

I find it easy just to reset one of the trip odometers whenever I fill up. Once it gets to 140 miles, I start looking for a gas station.
