Modern fuels are not very good for some of the plastic and rubber components in a carb so they tend to need a rebuild with new parts more often than they used to as such i keep a rebuild kit in stock in my shed and carry a spare float needle in my bike tool kit
I have replaced all the float bowl screws with allen headed screws it is now easy to get into the float bowl

My bowl screws were allready replaced with allen head screws.
