Starting in gear

I never like to start my H-D in gear,with (obviously)the clutch pulled in.I feel it's too much engine drag for the battery to contend with,and i've found that the H-D battery has a tough enough life without making it work harder.

Actually,i never like to start any of my bikes in gear;always in neutral,with the clutch disengaged.

I agree, and anybody that learned before push button starts will usually start in neutral.
