Starting Noise

Is it normal for the back of the clutch assembly to look like this? Looks like rust spots. How about the main drive shaft, it looks burnt?

The "burnt" spots I believe are normal, and happen when they are machining the parts. I don't think the "rust" spots are a concern, as the parts are coated in oil after the first start-up. The ring gear teeth all look fine. You sure got that inner clean!!

Thanks Ed. I just wiped the inner where the oil was pooling, it was pretty clean already.

I see you put the primary drain plug back in already. That's a good idea to put it in now it now. Guess what I did once
