I used a Sony CDX M60UI radio. My bike had no radio in it when I bought it as it was an 09 electra glide standard, wire was there just no radio. I installed a biketronics kit to mount the radio in place. If your bike already has a radio then you should be fine. It is just a matter of hooking the wires up to the right wires within your harness. I also replaced the stock speakers (imagine a new bike comes with speakers but no radio, crazy) with a set of J&M speakers. Now since their is an almost 20 year differance between your bike and mine you might want to check and see if your present radio is one of those large bulky units they used back then if so then I would recomend you contact the people at biketronics to assist you, They helped me when I needed it.
You will most likely need kit BT-1000 or BT-1005, the only differance is, BT-1000 is for sony radios and BT-1005 you can use use sony , pioneer, JVC or kenwood. The biketonic kit allows for you to use the stock hand controls as well as when the bike RPMs go up so does the volume of the radio. No need to re-adjust as you ride or rush to lower volume when you stop the bike.
Again I had no radio to start with, the whole cost of this set up to was less than 500 including antena thanks to e-bay and craigs list. I will warn you do not buy a used biketronics kit, buy new from a reputable company. If military or retired biketronics gives discounts.
Good luck and please feel free to contact me if you need further assistance.
