Actually, I'd think unloading the suspension is probably better for it in storage than leaving it on the suspension. I'd think the pieces wouldn't be so inclined to take a set.

Like srf506 says the springs will take a set. You figure if the springs are compressed long enough they will loose their strength. Like a rechargeable battery if you keep recharging a 1/2 charged battery it will get a memory and not fully restore to a full charge. Off topic but I believe it is a good idea to turn your engine over during storage to let the valve springs stretch. They can lose their strength by being compressed for long periods.
