I own a FXR and have also owned a Super Glide. I have ridden my neighbor;s Sporty and although the performance of the sporty is great I would def. get the SG. Bigger (especially at 6', I'm 5'9") and def. more comfy on those 300 mi. trips you mentioned. I don't know how you feel comfortable on the sporty as I don't and I'm shorter. As previously stated, I think you would be upgrading to a SG soon and that would cause you to lose money. JMO

There's no wrong choice here lol I rode a sporty for many years there a blast around town bigger bikes are definitely more comfy on the bigger rides
