have you tried glue traps? get the big ones for rats and use the peanut butter. these will snatch a mouse and hold 'em tight. i get mice in the top of the garage. only problem i have is the dogs get the traps stuck to their snout.

Fly paper works great. Just lay several sheets out around your tires and kick stand (points of entry for the rodent)s. They get stuck to it and you simply pick up the paper and dispose of it. You can also lay a sheet behind work bench, in corners of garage, etc... has worked great for me for years.
