Geezer, lol, first, it has to be his idea...and 2nd, we found a pretty fair deal on a sporster. Later, when he decides that we should have a bigger bike, we will probably end up with another touring model.
Sportster is a good bike and very easy to push around, as it has a shorter wheelbase and a tighter frame than any of the big twins it will handle much better on twisty roads it just needs a good set of sticky tyres
The sportster is fun to ride especially on twisty roads I have a short straight handlebar on mine so there is a wee bit of forward lean putting my weight over the tank right about the mid point on the bike once the bikes and tyres are fully warmed up it handles very well I do at times find myself sliding across the seat with my knee out as far as it will go to get the tightest line through a bend
It is fun
