Well guess what ... !!!

just one more time -- NO texting while driving. IF you do just one time (and get caught), you lose your driving license for 5 (FIVE) long years!!!!

Did I say I dont like texting while driving!! I dont even like cell phone usage while driving -- look around - see ALL the folks using their cells while driving -- here you will find MOST drivers are using. AND wrecks are everywhere! Some minor some bad - some deadly! Please do not accept the idea of texting while driving - motorcyclist are especially in harm's way! It has gotten out of hand and needs to STOP now! (my rant is over - sorry)

Bummer man.
Got to wonder, why did he have failure to have vehicle under control? It riles me to see people texting, and even talking on the phone while their driving.

Man that could have been so much worse. I have had to many close calls and wonder sometimes if it is worth it. When I get back on the bike those thoughts are gone until the next moron does something stupid. Been riding for over 40 years and it hasn't made me stop yet.

OMG! Our worst fears come true! Sorry for your accident. You have a nasty bruise and cut there. In time those things will heal, and your ride can be repaired. As bad as it was you got to walk away. Many of us don't. I count my lucky stars each and every time I arrive home safely, especially with my wife on the back. Riding our bikes is a strong allure for us. A big part of our lives. Giving that up is a decision that only you can make.

For sure, that was a hard hit. That's the downside of a sport we enjoy. A good rural area road trip would be a good way to recover.
 
Good to hear you are o.k. after that. Hope you heal quickly, those scrapes and cuts look painful.

I know this is a bummer , but be thankful for the SUV . It probably saved your life. without it the kid would have kept going a lot further.

In both accidents (the one in 2013 and this one), I should have been reasonably safe. In 2013 I was riding on the HOV lane on 59 heading North into Houston at rush hour. Me and hundreds (if not thousands) of my closest friends were all headed into work at that hour (around 8a). Yet I was struck by an idiot cage driver going THE WRONG WAY on the HOV.

In Monday's accident, I was going West on the Westbound feeder of the Sam Houston Tollway just after rush hour (around 8:30a) and had come to a complete stop at a marked four way STOP sign intersection at a divided cross street (Vickery Dr.). Yet I was slammed into from behind by an idiot cage driver that was probably texting on his cell phone or something, but was NOT coming to a complete stop at the STOP sign and so slammed into me and the Suburban stopped next to me on my left!!!

IDIOTS!!!

There should be some sort of significant penalty for this sort of "accident" involving motorcycles. Like loss of license and driving privilege for an extended period (like 5 years) or something for the cage driver.

I would favor this situation as a justification for a self-defense shooting of the driver by the motorcycle rider, but doubt that would get by the Liberals!!! :s :mgun

The law probably won't penalize this idiot enough, you need to do it. I am about as far away from the sue mentality than almost anyone, but in this case you should sue him for everything he's got. Make him think twice about doing it again.
