What might cause this ticking noise?

I was experiencing the same ticking on my 2010 Ultra. I recently switched to Royal Purple Max Cycle 20W50 from Mobil1 20W50 and the ticking has become almost nonexistent. I still hear a little tick now and then but for the most part it is gone. Just my results, YMMV.

I have had the exat same tap for years and have taken it to 5 dealers all telling me it is normal Since 1000 miles on up to the 28000 hasnt gotten louder and the only answer i ever get was get performance cams. Yeah ah no if it is normal then it is. I have 2 friends both with 2003 one fi and one carb all have the same all from the front left Guess it is.

Someone here suggested (I do not know who)......These are mechanical items, they make noise, ride it and have fun. i think I will do just that. Bob
