Thanks Jack. I don 't think a fan is necessary here: it's -4C (or about 28F) lol.
If I just let teh old oil drain really well, should that not take out the condensation as well ?? I won't run it with the new.

You could do that, you may also run a bit of Marvel Mystery oil in it prior to the change:s

The problem with not using the fan is the heat is concentrated only in certain areas like heads etc.as it runs. By the time the oil gets hot, the heads will be smoking hot. I would use a fan anyway to eliminate the hot spots just to be sure.
