I did it every time but then again I'm fanatical about things. The oil stays clean looking much longer without all that dirty oil left in the engine oil galleries. Worth in IMO just if it makes you feel better.

I just went to sears and picked up the tool to remove the line. As stated in the oil change article. $9.99 . good stuff
