Oh I see what you mean. No, the other piston skirt dosen't have those scuff marks. Why?

The piston has wear marks but the cylinder looks good? Can you measure both pistons and compare?
I have a dial micrometer. I will measure them tomorrow. Thanks
Seems like all I've been doing is waiting on parts for this project. The first pistons I ordered were the wrong type, some kind of racing pistons, so had to reorder another set. But I finally got in my new pistons and rings and got them installed today.

GG; project's moving along nicely! Definitely find little "gremlins" in these project bikes, but that's 1/2 the fun. I rebuilt my 75 Kawasaki dirt bike in HS small engine shop and found bad rings/piston/cyl...ended up boring-out. That's when I really learned a ton about motor intricates. Those were the days...
Just to finish up this post, here's how the Sportster ended up. I converted it to 1250, added an Electra Glide tank, Fatboy front fender for the rear fender, chromed the covers. Then I sold it. And bought another Sportster. Traded the second Sportster, with some cash, for a 96 Lowrider.
