cleaning plastic windshield

I read a tip here about putting a wet towel over the visor of my lid and leaving it soak for 10-15mins and those well-splatted-in bugs just come right off.
Been doing the same thing on my detachable shield and it works well.
For a lighter splatering of our unwanted chitinous hitchhikers, good old Pledge on a damp microfibre cloth does a great job.

I'm now using "Jasmine" Pledge in a blue can Glider - a change from the lemon perfume and just maybe a little more shine??:lolrolling:lolrolling:lolrolling

To get the dead beasts off visor or windshield i use glass cleaner works on the visor and worked well on the BMW windsheild

One very important thing...

When you're cleaning bugs and road grime off the windshield, be sure to use vertical strokes. If you do happen to get minor abrasions, they won't distort the field of vision. Circular or horizontal imperceptible scratches can cause very annoying distortion.

That's a very clever tip!

Yes, spray can pledge, I use the lemon one:D

Been using it a long time and the bugs just don't stick to the shield. A spray of a little more to clean it and they come right off.

Better believe Glider, was an unbeliever, now a convert.
Try it works great, smells good too.

Hello, In my opinion the BEST and ONLY thing I use on my windshield is Novus 1 Plastic Clean and Shine. It also is a "No Fog" polish and it buffs up perfect. I never ride without cleaning first. If you do have a few sticky bugs that seem hard to remove I take a HOT wash cloth and just let it sit on there a few minutes and they come right off. I must say the Novus kinda keeps bugs from sticking so I never really have that problem. I just spray a light mist on and buff with a very soft cloth, never a paper towel! I gave two of my best friends a bottle and they were shocked how great it worked. Moose
