Dealers You Wouldn't Recommend.

Re: AMC Harley Davidson BAD DEALER

I have already gone through Harley Customer NO Service, they side with the dealer. Even when they said the dealer was wrong. I love Harleys but I hate this dealer, if he won't take the Sportster in on trade like he should.
I'm going to drive down to his store on weekends, and stand on the street with a protest sign. Just to see if I can stop people from going inside.

We took in a 09' Harley Sportster to trade in on a 2010 Harley Street Glide special order. We were told by the salesman that we would have to take our trade-in to the original selling dealer to make the trade, not them. The salesman (rick)also told us that they didn't take trades, even though they had used bike on the sales lot. He told us that they had to many Sportster’s and didn't want ours. There was 3 of us there when he said all this, and we all heard him. We rode the Sportster down there to make the trade, it was in there lot. We wanted to leave it there, when he wouldn't take the trade we took the bike home and are trying to sell it our self. Harley Davidson ran a Promotion in 2009 that if you bought a New Harley Sportster you could take it to any Harley dealer with-in a year and trade it in for full MSRP. They won't honor this, so I have no recourse but to file this complaint.

Is this dealer the AMC Harley-Davidson in Albany , Or.??? If so - check out their website, it states that they even make loans for NON-Harley bikes!!!

Adder thought / questions here ----- 1st- Were they a "Participating Dealer" in this ?? ( not all were doing this). 2nd - isn't this "Trade-In" deal over with?? Thought MoCo pulled this!!??

Re: AMC Harley Davidson BAD DEALER

So the deal was that you must pay MSRP for the sporty and apply it to a touring model that you are willing to pay MSRP for. And you also must do the trade at the same dealer you bought the Sporty at.

I would think if your willing to pay MSRP for the touring model they would grab the deal.
Something is not right about this trade.

Brian's Harley Davidson in Langehorn Pa. I walked in and the Guy asked how I was ans what can I help you witj. I said fine and that I was there to buy a Harley. I was looking at a Fat bBoy and ahe said that he had a few more downstairs and we wnet to look at them. Then he told me that he had a few preowned and asked if I wanted to look at them. I said yes, we went into the room with the used bikes and there was not one Harley. I felt as if he thought that I was nnot good enough to have a Harley. I can't beleive that he showed me those bikes after I said that I was there to buy a Harley. I left and haven't been back since. I went to Delaware and got my bike that day.

i do not recommend Susquehana HD of Harrisburg pa...they are very un helpful and ignorant...i like dealers that treat you like family..i highly recommend Shaeffers HD

i would not recommend Shaeffers HD they destroyed my fist Sportster.
They used some kind of degreaser on silver painted engine took some of
the paint off, service advisor blamed me.Asked what i clean it with.Took two hours to admit they did it.Only wanted to spray it with out taking it a part.Would not guarantee it would not chip or peel. Not very good people.

wow,
i did not have service doen a shaeffers yet.....now i am scared.
i only bought parts and clothes, and those sales people were great....thanks for the heads up

All I have to say is out of 23 thousand people that read this post and only 114 have responded looks to me that Harley is doing good. WOW, wow and more wow!

Did this deal last summer. Program ended Sept.09
you pay MSRP for the sporty but you can make whatever deal you can on the Big twin your trading for. I got every penney back on the Sporty and got $1000.00 off the FXDL and a service manual. Not a smokin' deal but I thought a fair one.
I'm pretty sure this was a MOCO program but it might have been dealers choice.
Towards the end of this I think a lot of dealers had more sportsters than they knew what to do with. Might be why this shop was putting you off. No excuse though IMHO
