Ive got 24k on my 1990 1200xlh . I was thinking about going with a syn. Am I looking at leaks? I heard it cleans out alot of junk. I use MOCO now.

Just a note to say I have been using Lucas Racing 100% Synthetic 20W/50 oil thru two oil changes, (change every 3,000 miles). It is made for air/oil cooled engines with oil wetted clutches including "Harley Davidson V-Twins".

Oil comes out a brown amber (went in straw amber color) and seems to run just fine...and does not break the bank at $6.99 per quart, in stock at O'Reileys/Kragen Auto Parts only a mile or so from the house.

Syn 3 until my prepaid maintenance plan with the dealer is over. Then Mobil V-Twin.

Why wait? It's your bike and you can use what ever you want as long as it meets or exceeds the manufacturers specs and M1 VT does exceed the syn 3.

I am not messin around with anything else. Mobil One Full Synthetic has served me well for many years. Available everywhere and works as well as any. :D

Please keep all conversations and questions on oils to the oil forum instead of posting them in the POLL threads.

The POLL threads are for gathering information on the products and not for discussions about the products themselves .

The OIL forum is for the questions and answers.
