GOOD Dealers And Experiences

This thread has been really helpful for me.
I'm the new kid on the block here and very willing to tell you that I pay attention to what folks say.

Great idea for this thread, thank you very much.

I wish someone had found a GREAT dealer in Illinois. I found two in Indiana on this thread and have contacted one of them about the purchase of a new bike this Spring.

Any Illinois dealers I should visit?

Thanks again,

bikerken1

Cycle Connection Harley Davidson in Joplin, MO is a great dealership.
We have bought 2 bikes from them and they really deal well on price.
Service department is great as well. Seems to be a real stand-up operation!

Have you ever been to Speedway Harley down in Concord? Good folk there.

Bruce Rossmeyer's Southern Thunder Harley Davidson in Horn Lake, Mississippi. I went in to buy the part I THOUGHT I needed, and left with the part I did need, along with a complete wiring diagram, and remove/install instructions for the new part.

In Ventura County - Southern California

Ventura HD in Camarillio as far as the Retail Sales and Parts departments, list prices only, but Parts people are friendly and knowledgable. If Active military, ask for 10% discount. They are my primary source for HD parts and accessories. Have not had any service done there so cannot speak about it.

Santa Maria HD in Santa Maria as far as the Retail Sales and Parts departments, has larger inventory than most and have in store sales items and list prices only, friendly and are also very helpful, but again I cannot speak for the service done there as well.

Cycle Pro in both Oxnard and Simi Valley is very good regarding sport riding gear suitable for both metric and V-twin crowds, and their pricing of oils, lubes and chemicals is very good. The newer one in Simi Valley only 'bout 2 years old is similar, staff is not as knowledgeable but they are working hard to do well, exceptionally well stocked.

Buena Ventura Motor Sports - also caters mainly to the metric crowd, especially huge selection riding gear and accessories; but has plenty of used V-Twins and again their pricing of oils, lubes and chemicals is also very good. Regarding new tires, they are the ones who mount and balance the tires FREE if you carry in your wheel and tire, and you buy new tire from them.

Motorcycles 101 in Ventura - good selection of used bikes including Harleys at descent prices, good selection of aftermarket accessories, geared for metric street riders, with friendly staff.

Try to work with your retailer, negotiate prices close to what you find on the Internet (does not hurt to ask them price you expect to pay 10% off list price or 10-15% above lowest price seen on Internet. I never try to gouge local dealer especially if they stock part you want or go through the trouble of ordering it for you...just take advantage of using your credit card "Product Guarantee protection clause" (Do not pay in cash, check or debit for big ticket items).

I guess I'm pretty lucky. Have two great dealers within 10 miles.
Wolverine Harley in Clinton Township Michigan.
Detroit Harley in Centerline Michigan.
Bought my FatBob from Wolverine. I'm treated with respect everytime I walk in. They know and want to know you by your first name. I also belong to the Wolverine Hog Chapter which gets us all together, salesman, service guys, we all get together once a month. All problems if any come out and things are resolved over a few hot dogs and laughs first Tuesday of the month. A great bunch a guys. In these trying times, it's a nice feeling when your hard earned money is appreciated and not taken for granite. The best thing is to find a dealer that has organized a chapter and become a member. A bunch of truthful guys. This is hard to find nowadays.

I didn’t buy my first bike there, but living closer to Tifton H-D in Tifton, GA, they have been my dealer for service and most everything else. The staff is great and always responsive to my needs.

I bought my Ultra there and never considered going anywhere else. So, if you’re going south on I-75, stop in for some true southern hospitality. :42:

Guidera's HD in Yuba City CA has a good service department. If you are in the area stop by and see Holmes or Mike. They will treat you right. Tell them Jammin Jim sent ya.

Berry Woods in Fountain Inn SC was great! Good staff there! I think I got a great deal on my bike! Would recommend to anyone! :)
