need a little help, I have a 2008 flht standard I just replaced the map sensor , intake seals, exhaust seals, serviced the hole bike , installed a 13 inch handlebar kit and fixed a few small dash problems and so on. The bike rides very smooth and don't have and issues except when I hammer on her. It's like there is no top end power??? I don't have any rich fuel smell or leaks, I also can't hear any intake sucking noise. The bike had a lot more power before the repair wonder what I did wrong any ideas?

Tell us a little more about your scoot, any other work done? any other upgrades?
More info may be helpful.

2008 Electra Glide standard 96ich 6 speed, Only thing not stock is the slip-on's V&H.
before I did all the recent repair the bike was cutting out and not wanting to run. I had It diagnosed and was told it's the map sensor and intake seals are most likely leaking. I removed and replaced Theo's items and performed a full service minus a fork fluid change. I also removed the wing to repair a few small issues and found several wire problems. So I took the opportunity to fix everything and install new 13inch bars and cable kit. The bike acts like it needs a map maybe. I shouldn't need a map with stock filter and slip-on's should I ?

Adding slip ons should not require a remapping in my opinion.
Just a thought, when you added the bars and cable kit did you make sure the throttle cable is adjusted correctly and opening fully? If your top end issue started after you did the work, recheck everything you did and you may find the problem.

i have to pull the bars back about 1/4 inch so ill recheck the throttle insert, is there a mark you know of that will indicate the appropriate position? i don't think i even looked for one to be truthful.

What I would check 1st, take off your air cleaner and filter. Roll open the throttle and see if the butterfly opens completely, the butterfly should be horizontal with equal distance from top to bottom.

I will give that a look tonight thanks. what's your thought on the stock air filter and assemble? I just thought about this a minute ago, the guy who I bought the bike from had a stage one filter with no mounting bolts and the hole unit was hanging. I was advised to replace the intake seals and bolts . I wound up going back to stock everything due to $ . Is it possible that the stock stuff is restricting the air flow that much.

Here is a pic of a stage 1 backing plate. I think it would be worth your while to switch over to the stage 1 air cleaner and filter. Much more airflow and your beast will thank you.

ill have to try that, a buddy just said the same thing lol, will I have to remap my system? ive been told both ways/
