Here's my Trike build

Wow it continues to evolve. Great work. I am sure it is great feeling to tell strangers that you meet that it is completely your build.

You got that right. Ive been growing a beard to cover all the facial cracks I've been getting from smiling so much.

Zoood, so good hearing from you...been too long, I like your "eyebrow" mod to your lighting. :D

Im still at it. I recently added the Ultra Cool oil cooler. Since my trike is a 1993. It didnt come with a oil temp gauge. So I added one. The obstacle to get around was,... there's no place to screw the sending unit into the oil pan. Twin cams have this extra threaded hole. needless to say. With the Ultra Cool. I couldnt mount the thermal switch there either. So I mad a junction out of brass fittings and mounted that where my jiffy stand used to reside. I then cut the oil line that came with the installation kit of the Ultra Cool. The line I hooked up to the brass junction is the one that came from the oil pump and went to the base of the oil cooler.

A & B are the ends of the oil line I cut to mount the brass junction. Since thats a high pressure oil line. I used plumber's tape and plumber's liquid tape together to for an excellent seal.

I have the older inner fairing. Places to mount the temp gauge were very limited.

The switch that's just below the oil temp gauge. Is for an over-ride switch fot the Ultra cool Fan. Though the Ultra Cool thermal switch comes on @ 190 degrees. My 113 Ultima engine requires the engine operating temp to be 200 or less. With the over-ride switch I can turn the fan on ahead of time or if the thermal switch ever falters. I can manually turn the fan on at my discretion.

We did our ride to the mountains and back. On the trike, steering the twisty mountain roads. Was more like work. Unfortunately we couldnt lean into the curves like on a 2 wheeler. But at least I got to see the temps my engine ran at. The Ultra Cool cooler worked perfectly. It maintained the range I was comfortable with. Depending on the hammering I did with this new engine and coupled with it's break-in period. I stayed between 190 and 220. Since I had to modify my hook-up, beings my bike is a 1993. I was concerned about oil leaks. I didn't have any. Not a one! I now have 400 miles to go before the engine break-in period is over with. I had just did an oil change and where the oil filter and the Ultra Cool mounts. I was concerned that it would be a bear to get in there. I was wrong. It was a piece of cake. Im still waiting on the new revision Ultra Cool is doing to their product. In the mean-time. The list of customers that are waiting for this revision keeps on growing. On my trike build. I keep coming up with new ideas to do to it. The latest is a new type of riding seat. Im light in weight and yet I still get a wet butt from sweating in my seat. I tried beads, but they only hurt my bottom side within the 1st half hour. Plus they acted like ball bearings when I was cornering and wanted to roll me out of my seat. I just ordered 7lbs of modeling clay and will be shaping a new seat to make from scratch. It will be vented in such a way to allow air flow under your underside. It will also be shaped like a bucket to keep you in your seat. If and when you get the seat wet. The venting will also double as drainage. So needless to say,... my trike build continues.

You are quite the inovator. See the hill take the hill!!! Nice clean work and it give me some thoughts on hooking up a temp guage to my 94 softail. Thanks.

The build continues,... been looking in the House of colors.
This is the primary base color the trike will be this winter -

I'll be adding 50's styled ghost flames over this color with Metajuls which is a prism flake as a dusting within the flames.
Both the trike and it's trailer will match in color and flames.

Those prism as well as the pearls when used in different mixtures and techniques net some awesome results.

Please try to do a write up for us maybe with some pics as you do it, it would be most appreciated.:D

I surely will. been getting so many views on this project. Never anticipated so much exposure. Ill get more pictures of some changes I did to the trike. I changed that stock air cleaner and cover that comes with the Ultima Engine. Went with the Kuryakyn Hyper Charger, but made a new insert instead of that blood grove look that comes on their product. Its all about what one likes, as in custom verses stock.

Can't wait to see it finished,

Ha! That makes two of us! Actually 3. Gotta include the ol lady. But I am narrowing down to the finish line.

Am even kickin it around to start another in the spring. Only that one will be strictly tricked out for show.

I'm now redoing my tail lites with Ride Time technologies. Ive been using 1937 Ford Tail lites on my trike. Which uses 1157 bulbs. Very hard to see in the daytime.

The LED's are populated on a circular PC board that has a bayonet insert for the light socket. Since the LED layout is only 2" in diameter and the 37 ford tail lite housing is 3". Im making a housing that will fit snug and hold the LEDs in the center. I found that the plastic lid off a Hellmans mayonnaise jar fits perfectly. Im also cutting a diameter of mirror polished 18ga SS as a base within the housing around the LED array. For more reflective qualities. I will be posting pictures of this modification in a day or so. I have to make 4 set-ups so that I will also have the same bright tail lites for my trike's trailer as well.
