Here's my Trike build

Very smart idea, you have a great idea. All the backrests made are for two wheels, there are no 'Trike Specific' ones available. You have certainly made an improvement on an exsisting product.

Thank you,... I figured since I'm building this trike to fit me. Might as well go all out. Im also designing a new seat for it as well. Then I can boast "No More Monkey Butt!" lol

RJ, looks like you've got the beginnings of a new trike product. I like the idea of the latereal support that standard backrests don't have. I have improved my support a bit by getting the Road Zeppelin seat that has a LARGE seat area that helps keep my butt planted in sharp curves.
You could take your backrest idea and adapt it to the standard under-the-seat mounting brackets that H-D provide (adjustable and non-adjustable).

I plan on making them in the near future. I cant get a patent on it. It's what's known as old art. Thats why I released it in here. Other than that I wouldnt have put it out there. The seat I'm designing. Now that will be patented when Im finished with it. I just got my new Ultima bullet sliders in for my front end and the tubes are 2" over stock length. They go in sometime this week. I also managed to add 2 hog tune speakers in back of the passenger seat.

zoood,
Post pictures of your trike when it is complete, I like what I see.

Completed will be after it's finished, as in painted. Ive been posting pictures of my build. Here and of course on my web site. Ive been building it, not only to ride. But to design new ideas or fixes as I go through the motions of my build. So it will be a while before I can honestly say it's complete.

zoood,
I like the fender skirt idea. I only remember one kit that came with it and it was the Ultimate from the Trike Shop. The body reminds me of the Lehman Rogue for FLHT. That was a nice trike body style, yet wasn't a big seller with Lehman. I like your's better.

I hadn't ever seen that rogue body style your referring about. The body I have, came as a pull behind trailer a guy here in town pulled behind his street rod. I bought it from him and pulled it behind my 92 FLHTP. When I built my trike. I made that trailer body fit my build on my 93 EGC. Turns out that Timeout Trailers had bought out another company that made this style body. It's actually a replica of the servi car body. No offense towards Tri-Glide owners. But the look of a Tri-Glide just reminds me of backing-up an Ultra Classic into a trike body. I dont care for the tour-pac on top of the body look. Or even to have my passenger sitting up on the body. That's why I incorporated the passenger's tour-pac back rest into the trike's body.
I had also got up with Timeout Trailers and purchased just another body. This was to complete my build with a matching trailer. That body fits the rolling trailer chassis that came with the 1st body on it. I even went as far as shortening the tongue length by 14 & 1/2".
I had always liked the look of fender skirts. Plus it gave me the option to dress up or dress down the look. Depending on the occasion and since I have airbrushed many years. I like that I have added more surface for murals. In case I decide to do so.
Here's a sample of my art work -

When ever I ride to a dealership or any wheres. This thing really turns heads.
