Replaced my rear right about 14k I would have kept it on for another 1000 or so but I had a trip planned. Have over 20k and still have the original front tire still looks good. Will replace both front and rear come spring.

WOW!!! you guys get a lot better on your dressers than I get on my Softail. I'm pushing it at 9000, and it looks pretty thin at 8000. That's the 200 rear, and they don't have a whole lotta tread to begin with though.

I got 12k out of my stock Dunlop 402 rear on my 05 springer softtail classic then switch to a Continental on the rear and barely got 8k out of it .
traded springer in last week for 09 street glide last week . The rear tire on the
09 SG is suppose to even give you better wear.

Wildspirit - the name says it all...
actually you probably have the "setup" and the "motivation" for performance riding and probably ride on rougher roads than smooth highway tarmac...like most touring bike riders, not necessarily a bad thing.:57:

MRKihn's experience with the 200 rear tire is more in line with my experience with my 2007 FLSTF Fatboy.
I only got around 5000 miles on my original equipment rear tire. Could have probably got another 1000 miles but was going on a trip so replaced tires prior to leaving.
Being a little un-happy with the wear/mileage I got from my original set, I contacted Dunlop and inquired what their perception of normal tire life for this tire and they responded with "between 5k and 8k mile depending on the type of riding that is done".
I have looked everywhere for a different brand other than Dunlop to try, but cannot find another manufacturer that makes a replacement tire for my Fatboy. Guess I am stuck with Dunlop!!!

Avon makes one the same size, it's the cobra series. That's what I have on there now but I need a new one at about 8500 miles. The avon cost alot more, 'bout a hundred bucks more, so If I don't get the Metz 210/50/17 ,then I'll probably get the dunlop. you can find the Avon on Denis Kirk, or JP their both about the same price.

I don't usually change from the stock size but I've heard from a few posters on here that they work. And one reliable source said it was an even better ride with the 210 Metzler
