What Brand Bike Did You Ride Prior to HD?

67 yamaha 100 , 72 suz 250, first street bike was a 1946 BSA M20 500cc brand new in the crate military surplus Paid $250 wish I would have kept that one and a few others I had over the years.

In 1972 parents bought me a 1970 Honda CB100. Then in 1983 I bought a 1971 BMW R75. Had it 2 years then was bikless until 2008 when I purchased my first HD 2008 FLHR.

1st bike 650Triumph Bonnie,1st new bike 1973 Norton Commando, New 1974 V7 Motto Guzzi Sport 1975 Guzzi 850 T Stopped ridding after my best friend was killed in a motorcycle accident while we wee both ridding and got caught in the rain He slid and skidded into a lamp light cement base (decappitated) wearing helmet I had to call his parents Got into my 1st Harley in 1990

Well, my most favorite two were both British Triumphs, a 60s Bonneville and a later Bonneville after they had been punched out to 750s. Now, they're 900s and I came very close to buying one, but ,naaaaaaaaaa, it's now all Harley for me, forever more.

Yamaha 180cc twin 2 stroke street bike (still in school back then); Yamaha XT500 dual purpose thumper (possibly why I like the sound/feel when EITMS enables on the FLHR); 1978 Yamaha triple 750 Special; 1982 Goldwing 1100 (plain jane) for 17 years with a concurrent 1991 XLH1200 for a few years; 1997 Valkyrie for 7 years; now 2007 Road King. Followed Harley’s evolution from the AMF years. Always felt HD is the root of motorcycling and what a motorcycle should be, the look, the feel, the ride, the sound…

I rode and still have an o7 CCM. Powered by my legs. My current bike is an 07 Softail Standard. It's also my First Motorcycle.

My first machine was a 1977 Honda CB550K, which I set up for my version of touring. (image below of actual cycle). These were the good old days as I actually carried a comb for hair in my back pocket....HAW! Although I only had my Honda a couple of seasons, many years later when I got back into riding it had to be HD and nothing other than a new Roadking in 1997....now three HD's later, my life has never been happier.
