What TUNER have you used?

I went with the new PC-V. I did alot of research and I chose the PC-V. Got mine for under $300 off Ebay. The PC-V was easy to install and it has the ability to add on the Autotuner also. The Autotuner comes with the wideband oxy sensors. Later on if I do any engine mods the PC-V can be adjusted to compensate for any of those mods. I just installed it, downloaded the map from PC's websight to my laptop then just downloaded it to the PC-V. I can also hook my laptop to the PC-V while the bike is running and see rpms, throttle pos, engine temp ect. ect.,:TEXAS

+1 for the PC V....bought my from Fuel Moto USA. Jamie provided the map to my 07 FLHT with Screamin' Eagle AF, Screamin' Eagle Touring Mufflers, and HD's Stage 1 Download. Might get the AutoTune later on.

Bikes performance is AWESOME!

I just ordered a TFI the other day and was wondering if someone could give me some idea of what the settings might be for the pipes and a/c I'm going to put on.
V&H Big Radiius 2:2 pipes.
SE stage1 A/C kit.

Thank You!
Phil

Phil,

You can go to Dobeck Performance and download the installation manual (pdf) for the unit you need for your bike. The last page of the instructions is some "starting" settings depending on configuration, mapp downloads, etc. These are suggestions from DP based on all their experience. If you want, you can call and talk to George about your specific stuff and get his suggested starting point. Don't forget to mention HDTimeline when you are ordering for your discount.

I just installed my TFI-1040ST as part of my roller chain conversion and new cams project. I already had done the Stage 1 and foolishly paid for a 1450 Stage 1 download from the HD Dealership. George recommended I start with:

2:30 3:00 3:00 4:00

That's what I did!!

TQ

Glider, My wife is buying an '09 Softail Deluxe. She is trading in her '05 Deluxe. She puts a lot of miles on her bike (26,000) on the '05. My question is what is the best tuner for the '09? She had the PC II on the '05. It ran very lean. She is having Sampson true duel fishtails installed and a stage 1 or what ever they do with the new ones now a days. The dealer is Trying to sell her an SE setup. ( go figure! ) She is trying to have this all wraped into the final price of the bike. So it has to be something HD will put on the bike to go out the door with. Thanks for any info.

I have an '98 Road King with V&H slip on's and a stag 1 intake. I had an old PC tuner on it but it just took a dump. Lasted a long time though. My question is, I am going to do the top end soon and cam up a little. What would be the best tunner to use? Any cam idea's would be great too. I'm planning on 10:1 pistons and Edelbrock heads. What else do I need to change as far as fuel injection system? O2 sensor?

I like the TFI for ease of installation and easy setup. It will not give you all the adjustments and fine tuning as some tuners will but for the street ridden bike where an owner can install the unit with simple hand tools, it's hard to beat.
Whether your dealer will install it worked into the price is up to him.

Again for your bike unless you are installing a radical cam with the 10-1 CR, the TFI would be a good choice IMO. Some like to use the PC units but unless you are familiar with computers, it takes just a little more work with the PC unless you get it already programmed from someplace like Fuelmoto.

Thanx Glider, I am familiar with the power commander and have the software already on my laptop. She has the PCII on her '05. The dealer says that the PC does not work on the '09, is that true? If we go with the PC do you recommend changing out the )2 sensors and if so which ones?

If you order the TFI for your bike it comes with O2 sensor bypass plugs ,you can use the bypass and leave the O2 sensors in and looking like they are still hooked up

I installed the tfi on my 07 low rider.Cost about 195.00 easy to install.I choose this brand because I only wanted to remap my fuel. It will only add fuel to cure a lean condition from installing free flowing pipes and air cleaner. I did not have to pay for dyno time, easy to set by instructions provided. If you have a problem, call their tech line and you will get imediate help and it will be right! they sell other models that will acomodate moderate cams.
