Where did your login name come from ? ? ?

Major Mark, easy - isn't it always! - Major 'cause I served 14 years in the South African Artillery and finished with that rank, and Mark is my name. The name I wanted was taken, so that, as they say, is that! Keep the wheels rollin'!

Used to hang out on bulletin boards back in the late 80’s before internet. Was known at that time as AutoDoc, kept it all this time. Even my business name in Spokane is “The AuoDoc” (you guessed it, auto mechanics).
It comes from an old saying, “Mechanics are auto doctors who auto get paid more”.

Mangiacavallo is the name of a character i played years ago in a beautiful Tennessee Williams play called The Rose Tattoo.
i just really liked the guy ...
his name means "eat a horse," as he says in the play.
Burt Lancaster played him badly in a film with the brilliant Anna Magnani.
i use it because it was a name that hadn't been taken when i was trying to find a log-in handle. 2 or 3 others i tried at the time were already in use.

i use my nickname from my time in the army and the last 3 numbers of my army number
for 25 years i was known to all who spoke to me as fin but to the army i was a number that ended in 676 so wherever ive been on the internet ive used the same user name which seems to be unique to me
its who i was and who i am
