Thanks for the great photos and explainations.
Well fellas, my "clunk" has gotten so bad that if I stand holding the bike by the grips and move it forward and grab the front brake hard, then backward and grab it hard you can hear and actually feel the clunk in the bars.I've been reading a lot of posts on the subject and I think its actually an issue in the front end. The best fix I saw was using a spall piece of a feeler gauge (whatever size is needed) to shim the area thats moving.
Honestly.....for 20 grand we should not be hearing this clunk, and certainly shouldnt have to be "rigging" a fix.
I installed my floorboard extension kit the other day and took er out for a spin. Tremendous improvement in leg comfort. I highly recomend them. Harley Goodies - Floorboard Footboard Extender Extension Kit - Better than BOOT DR. and HEEL GUARD. The owner, Tom, is a cool dude.

Oh one noticeable change was also the front engine mount see below...
Engine mount is the exact same as the 08
Thaks for the update. Now I know to keep an eye on mine.
Well friends, I have a good dealer! They not only fixed the clunk for free but washed & detailed the bike to boot! Gotta love that.Well fellas, my "clunk" has gotten so bad that if I stand holding the bike by the grips and move it forward and grab the front brake hard, then backward and grab it hard you can hear and actually feel the clunk in the bars.
I called the dealer and he said it is the top or locknut coming loose, while HD considers this a "maintenance" issue, they will take care of it for me. Thats great of him, but a truckload of BS that the Mo Co wont fix this obvious problem, especially since there is so much info out there about the issue. I'll keep you posted.
2500 miles and lovin every mile
They shut down I-95 for us and should be in excess of 20,000 bikers there.
THREAD JACK ALERT!!!
Merlynn, where at on I-95??
Find Adam Sander's 'Hanukkah Song'. That should do it!
