Do you do the "biker wave" at Sport Bike Riders?

I do, unless I’ve already passed a thousand bikes and then the antisocial side of me makes me stop. :p

JBK

I wave at anyone riding on three wheels or less; as i don't care who made who's bike....
but i have noticed that some riders (proportionaly most on v-twins) are too cool to wave back. Younger men on cafe bikes are most responsive to courteous "waves".....

When I bought my first bike, a Honda Scrambler, 40 years ago,and I was out there riding around, I noticed that people who rode bikes waved to one another, so I started doing likewise.Cool, we re one big happy family. Soon I noticed that guys on Harleys didn't wave to me on my metric bike. I felt like I wasn't in their elite club! Afterwards I bought a Harley Sportster. Now I too could snub the guys on their Metric bikes because now I'm "cool". As I have grown older I don't play that attitude game anymore. I wave to everybody who rides. If they don't wave back for whatever reason, fine. Heck, I even find myself waving to cagers who refrain from pulling out in front of me!! :p It's all about the freedom.

Actually I do as Horizonchaser, I give cager a nod or wave as a thank you when they acknowledge and yield. Even when in my cage, I find most riders will do same when I yield and I nod back.

Me and the missus only been riding our HDs for 3 months,as sportsbike riders we always gave a nod (if safe to) to fellow riders (except scooters,Ha Ha) and 9/10 got nod/wave back, still do same now and get good response from sportsbikes but as previously said its fellow HD riders who seem reluctant to return the gesture?Too cool?

Some may disagree, but I never felt like a nod showed the same acknowledgement/respect as outstretched hand. There's a brotherhood amongst bikers and a nod to me says, "I see ya" and nothing more where the hand is sharing the love man. I'm not saying my thoughts are right, but you can nod in a cage. The hand down is just something more that bonds us together, yet separates us from the other vehicles running the pavement.

Wave and be friendly unless it's unsafe at the time. We ride bikes because we enjoy it, so it shouldn't matter what type of bike you're riding. I have a Ultra Classic and a V-Star and enjoy riding both bikes.

I wave to all riders no matter what bike they're on. Nearly all wave back or nod if they're clutching or stopped.
