Do you do the "biker wave" at Sport Bike Riders?

I usually wave at everyone, i'm very partial to harley riders but i do have freinds that ride metric bikes and (EDIT) rockets, but i still try to look at them as biker pals.and give them all the two fingers down. And if they don't wave or nod oh well.......i'll lose no sleep.

Same Same here,

If you can tell a V-Star from an HD in traffic on the highway your eyes are better than mine. I wave most of the time, even to sport bikes. I'll only wave at the scooter riders if I'm feeling like messing with them.

I wave to all up on two and three wheels. And I also wave to the driver who waited to make a left turn or the driver who didn't come out of the side road in front of me!!!

Excellent Don! Now there's some positive reinforcement for a thoughtful move. By spreading the goodwill the way you do it makes better drivers and gives those of us on two wheels a better rep too! Thanks.

Two Fingers Down!

Heck, I will wave to a guy with a Mini Bike on the Sidewalk! I don't care.. Bikers will be Bikers...

I know exactly what you mean there HDDon. I think we are showing appreciation towards them for not pulling out in front of us. I have wondered if they knew the reason why we waved to them.

I will wave at all two and three wheeled vehicles big or small, Metric or American. I also have noticed that the sport bikers are more receptive than some of the V-twin riders, at least they are here in E. TN.

A good friend just gave me a 1983 Honda VF750 V-45 Sabre with 9K miles on it. In its day this cycle was one of the fastest factory produced cycles built, or so I have been told. Being pretty dumb about metric cycles, would this be considered a Sport Bike?

Reading literature that came with the Sabre in 1983, Honda was referring to it as a "Super Bike". So in essence if I ride it will I be able to see who does and does not wave at a Sport Bike Rider? Dunno?

Please respond.

2003 FLHRI 40k miles (my favorite)
2009 FLSTN 1K miles (my second favorite)

I wave as much as possible but the thing hat gets me is sometimes they don't wave back. I can understand that it is not requirement to do so but I think if someone waves at yuo i should be common courtisey to wave back.

ambujim, i felt that way at first, but I've learned to wave w/o looking at the other biker and keep my eyes on the road (need to anyway). i know i did my wave. that's good enough.

Don't be too hard on 'em if they don't wave back ambujim. I tell myself that maybe they've got something on their mind at the time and that I shouldn't worry about the lack of acknowledgement on their part.
I think serendipity said it best.
