I use highest I can find, locally its 91 non ethanol and 93 with ethanol allways park with non ethanol if I am not going to ride for a few days.

I wish we had non-ethanol in Southern Illinois. Too many farmers/politicians for that.

At the high elevation where I live, the engine isn't capable of putting out more than 75% of it's rated power. Because of that, I usually use 87 Octane. No pinging even at full throttle. However, at lower elevations, I use 89 Octane.

I run 91 octane no lead and 93 octane when I can get it. Bike does not like anything lower than 91 and it pings with ethanol.

I always use 93 and try to find a Shell or a BP when I'm on the road and not around home base.
