An inexpensive motorcycle jack, a good friend of mine had his 09 Ultra on one and some how a weld gave way and his 'Baby' came down. Then he would come over to my place and use the trike lift.
 
As to the Big Hammer:
It seems with age comes patience. So the need to hurry up and get done stops happening. When older you have the patience and want to get job done accurately.

I don't have a problem with a big hammer being used on a motorcycle it is the skill or lack of skill that is swinging it that would be the area of concern for me

fin_676 You are right for the intended target usally gets missed.

And I hate it when using a hammer we know we are probably going to miss and hit our hands and we do it any way LOL:p
